Prada just introduced a new solar powered watch. It's not on the usual sleek european style look, it's on a lot more sporty and rugged tip. Unfortunately, people outside of Europe won’t have much access to cop this joint. This watch can stay charged up for a month by a small drizzle of sunlight. It also has a radio receiver, but it only picks up stations in Europe. The Prada Solar Watch is available at Prada retailers in Europe and on Prada’s European online shop. 1500€.Labels: fashion, technology

The release of the Puma Basket Colour Change is an absolute innovation in sneaker design and function: in deed, it is heat sensitive and changes colour according to the temperature of your foot and environment. Originally olive brown becomes dark green to dark blue to deep purple. Temperatures below zero degrees cause a black colour. One touch is enough to adjust to the environment.Labels: fashion, technology

There is some talk that a new Zune would be coming before the end of the year, but it looks like things now may be starting to get a bit more certain -- at least according to the folks at Whiz Byte, who say they've heard as much from a Microsoft press representative. Specifically, the rep reportedly said that we can "expect an update later this year prior to the holiday season." While there's no word on exactly what form that "update" will take, the rep did give a few less than surprising general indications of what we can expect from the Zune in the future, stating that there's "three predictable paths along which we'll expand Zune." Those include updates to the device family itself, including "new sizes, styles and price points," along with new features that'll help the Zune "move towards parity with iPod" and new geographic markets for the Zune.Labels: news, technology

Sony finally took the wraps off its Network Walkman NWD-B100. The featherweight player is landing in Europe come August (sorry, no US release info as of yet), and has a 3-line color LCD, comes in 1GB (NWD-B103 / B103F) and 2GB sizes (NWD-B105 / 105F), and features an FM tuner, mic / voice recorder, up to 12 hours battery life, and perhaps best of all, it's now ATRAC-free (MP3 and WMA only) with mass-storage mode.Labels: music, technology

Just as Dell calls it quits on the PDA market and flexible displays become more and more common, it makes sense to see a concept device that takes advantage of both opportunities. The Flexi PDA, although still stuck on the drawing board, would present a rubber hinged handheld that could fold open much like a book, giving users a device that's a bit smaller and deeper than current alternatives. Additionally, the casing could easily be ruggedized in order to add water, dust, and shock proofing abilities for those with less delicate work spaces. As expected, this novelty would also pack a QWERTY keyboard, double as a cellphone, and triple as a media player should it ever hit the market, but for now we'll just have to settle with the above picture and a faint hint of hope.

Today officially unveiled the successor to one of the most iconic mobiles ever made, the RAZR 2. Available in 3.6Mbps HSDPA, EV-DO, and GSM / EDGE variants as the V9, V9m, and V8 respectively, the GSM and CDMA versions of the device is 2 millimeters slimmer than its predecessor and will be the second to use Motorola's new Linux-based platform (the first being the Z6). It includes something Moto is calling "Crystal Talk" technology that automatically adjusts volume and tone based on ambient noise. Other features include external music controls, haptics (read: vibration) for tactile feedback when external touchscreen keys are pressed, a full HTML browser, 2 megapixel cam, the full suite of Bluetooth profiles, Windows Media Player sync, a 2-inch QVGA external display, 2.2-inch QVGA internal display, and twice the screen resolution of the original RAZR. GSM versions start shipping in early July.Labels: culture, news, technology
Like a businessman with his laptop bag, the professional man of leisure must keep the tools of his lazy trade close at hand. Accordingly, the C&G Briefcase BBQ unfolds to reveal a 19x14" cooking surface -- so if you're inexplicably pulled into a meeting you'll be able to grill enough food to convince your colleagues they're now working on the Cheese Dog account.Labels: lifestyle, technology
The people at Intel recently showed off the "metro notebook." This laptop is apparently aimed primarily at women. One of the most noticeable concept elements is the SideShow-esque e-ink display embedded in the laptop's lid, which promises to let you view your email, calendar, and other information even when the laptop's powered down. What's more, Intel also sees the entire laptop acting as a charging pad for your other gadgets, though it seems you'll still have to charge the laptop itself the old fashioned way. Even without those less-than-imminent additions, however, the laptop appears to be a pretty decent unit, measuing just 0.7 inches thick and packing a Core 2 Duo processor, along with Bluetooth, WiFi, and WiMAX connectivity.Labels: lifestyle, news, technology
